Problems using IE8 - anyone else?

Hi,  I am getting messages from my user base that following an overnight update of IE8 (Version 8.0.6001.18702) various drop downs, quick and global search are not working.

Internal investigation is ongoing and will probably result in a case being raised with NS support, but in advance of this, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing something similar?
