Modifying a NS record by sending NS a specially formated email

Is it possible (using 3rd party software or custom programming) to make a system whereby a NS user could modifying a NS record by sending a specially formated email?

I have used other sites that use a similar feature.  For instance, flickr.com lets you email a picture (using a specially formated email) and it takes the attached photos and adds them to your flickr.com image folder.

Another common example is web based faxes. eFax.com lets you email a PDF (using a specially formated email) and it takes the attached PDF and faxes it to the phone number (that you included as part of the email address).
