Question: What exactly is the use of exporting a media.nl image path. No seriously.

We utilize NetSuite as an eCommerce platform for a couple storefronts and it is overall not a bad, if imperfect, solution.

However, it's roots as a CRM/ERP become painfully clear with anecdotal and painfully annoying quirks such as the following:

When exporting a web enabled item's image field information using a saved search, rather than present the actual image file name or path, NetSuite behaves like it is just any other image request and presents the media.nl generated image URL.

This is fantastic for creating a nice collage of product images within the saved search interface but is utterly and completely useless for:
