Custom address field

Is there anyway to create a custom field for an address record?  For each of our addresses we want to have a field available so that we can make address specific notes (i.e. "Leave package at back door") and then be able to print that with the packing slip.

The only work around that we have at this point is to select override on the address record and to key the information into the address box.  Not the most robust solution.  Any ideas?
