Custom search- Customer Retention

Hi there,
was wondering if someone could help me to create a search that would show customer retention.

What I'd like to see is a report that would show our customers and how many times each customer has ordered in a given time period.

This search could be further refined by Lead Source.  In otherwords, all of the new customers we got at x trade show, then we could see how many times they've ordered since.
