How to add Customer PO Number needed on Sales Order Report?

OK, I think I'm going crazy...

I just customized the 'Sales Orders by Customers Detail' report and then searched for the field 'po number'. To my delight, the customer 'PO Number' field that I need showed up (not the vendor PO # field). However, now (only 5min later) when I customize the same report, the field is not there! I KNOW I saw it there, but where did it go?
