Using a formula field in another formula field

I'm trying to figure out if this is possible. I am creating a customer report in the Report Builder. I have a column with a formula field that adds up column A and B, I'll call that column C. I want to add another column with a formula that subtracts column C from D. The problem is that the first formula column, C, does not appear as an option in the x and y dropdowns for the new formula.

Does NetSuite not let you use formula fields in other formulas? I sure hope that's not the case. Hopefully someone else has done something similar and can give me some good news.
