NetSuiteService Connection State

I'm coding in C# and I want to know, once I'm logged in to a NetSuiteService, is there any way I can get the state of the connection to NetSuite? Basically, I am searching to see if NetSuite has timed out my connection or not without assuming that is the case by catching exceptions.
