3PL / EDI / 940 Warehouse Shipping Order

We are in the intial stages of setting up integration between NetSuite and our 3PL (3 Party Logistics) company.

At this time, we are primarily focused on the EDI transaction sets of 940 Warehouse Shipping Order and 945 Warehouse Shipping Advise.

In 2007, we built the 850 Purchase Order, 824 Order Status, 856 Advanced Shipping Notice and 810 Electronic Invoice sets. Point being that we understand the technology and are looking for best practices / black holes that we might experience with setting this up.

The big issues we are concerned about are changes to the sales order prior to fulfillment, complex orders which are fulfilled out of multiple 3PL's and/or drop ship combinations, etc.
