I discovered today that I cannot mass update the price of an item.  I have 50 t-shirt designs that I want to put on sale and the only way to change the price of them is to go into each item and change them individually!  This is crazy!  I tried doing a csv import only to realise that it doesn't support matrix items.  Arrg!  If this is something you would like please add your name to this enhancement....
