Shipping Options in Shopping Cart
We are an online retailer, and we do receive a number of phone orders. Often, people inquire about the cost of various UPS shipping options. Unfortunately, we have not figured out any way to quote real-time shipping.
Our old (prior to NS) provider featured a zip code field in the shopping cart. Users could simply add items to their shopping cart, enter their zip code, and and a drop-down menu would appear with the rates for Ground, 3-Day, etc. They could select one, and their cart total would automatically recalculate.
Of course, we used this same feature when talking with (potential) customers over the phone. Now, we can only say we don't know, until we set-up a customer account, and enter an order. All the caller wants to know is how much before making a decision.
