knowledge base in a website

ok i have a knowledge base that is published to our website (only visible when logged in).

And want to do some work styling it and making it look better than it is now but it seems there is nowhere to to attach a category or list layout to topics (like you can with categories).

Is this something i've missed or is the knowledge base woefully inadequate for the web??
