How far without Site Builder Module?

As a new Netsuite user, and from a small UK company, I find the Netsuite add-on prices difficult to justify - as usually they are taken every year!

Such is the case with the Site Builder module - which costs a lot of money - but without this, I cant see how you get your web/ecommerce sites to look half decent?

Has anyone been able to build a decent looking website/ecommerce site using the basic package - i.e. the "full" netsuite package which is what we bought and which i was led to believe included website/ecommerce integration!!?
