Back order saved search email alert sending many emails/minute

edited May 28, 2009 11:12AM in Web Site / E-Commerce 12 comments

Folks,

I setup an email alert to notify customers of back-ordered items. It's scheduled to run nightly, and last night was the first production run.

It returned one result, and emailed the customer as requested. But then it emailed again, and again, and it just won't stop. Always the same alert, over 20,000 messages sent to our customer and internal staff here, and still going.

Case number is 882206. I post it here in case it's happening to others, and in the hopes that someone might help me resolve this sooner than the standard 'within 90 days' time frame. Our email infrastructure is really feeling the strain, and I'm pretty sure we lost this customer (once they get their email back online).

Howdy, Stranger!
