Duplicate customers through website - same email address

Sometimes we come across duplicate web customers that share the same email address.

Does Netsuite have a method of preventing duplicate web customers based on email address? where if they have already registered that email address they can retrieve it by using the forget password link instead of creating another account with the same email address?

Please advise
