Newsletter signup form with email address only

Is it possible to put a form on the website where a user can enter their email address into a form textbox, hit submit and it will create them as a lead with a subscribed status?

We want to try and collect email addresses from our customers on our homepage like quite a few companies do, only requiring their email address to sign up.
