Selling to Contacts

We are thinking about selling products to contacts. In this case the products would be classes. We are only set up to sell to customers at this point.

How hard would it be to add the ability to sell to contacts? Is it as simple as adding the Install Base tab to contacts?

Maybe that is not the way to do it. Some sort of 'linking table' record type?

How do some of you with E-Commerce sites handle selling to individuals and companies? Do you just make a customer record for individuals?

I should mention that we already have these potential class takers in NetSuite as contacts associated with customers.
