Initial Inventory Category upload was wrong - can I fix?

We have 2500 Inventory Records.  I used a CSV import to update all categories for Web Store.  Unfortunately they were incorrect.  Can I fix this without having to go into every item?
I tried uploading the new categories as well as new ones - neither worked to overwrite the initial download.
