Putting an item on sale?

OK, stupid question incoming. This cannot possibly be as difficult as I'm making it out to be.

How do a I put an item on sale/clearance/discount/whatever outside of just changing the Base Price or Online price? Is there a way to show what to the item was and that the customer is getting a discount? (like a slash through the MSRP with the current price displayed. Sure this is built-in functionality in NetSuite, right???
