Using a netsuite website as a point of sale in our showroom?

edited Mar 2, 2017 11:26AM in Web Site / E-Commerce 7 comments

My company sells shower doors, cabinetry, countertops, tile, etc.. Our model is retail but it's a consultative sale with a typical transaction exceeding 10 items and $700. Most customers will get an SO, pay, and then we fulfill the order a week later.

We're currently using the netsuite backend for checkout of customers. The checkout takes far too long and there are accuracy problems. We have to depend on the sales staff to memorize product names or reference a giant 3 ring binder.

I'm thinking a good solution for us might be a netsuite ecommerce site. Sales staff would be able to use a tablet and have a friendlier GUI for generating a sales order. What do you think? Will this be too much maintenance? Could this be a good solution for our problem?
