Sitebuilder Shopping Domain SSL Certificate Deployment in 2017.1

We are having an issue with trying to get our sitebuilder site secured to avoid Google penalties with the recent changes Google has instituted where you need to secure the whole site not just the checkout/account login sections (credit cards/login names/passwords). In 2017.1 I can see the new interface has a place for the SSL certificate on the shopping domain.
We contacted support on case#2681721 and have been told similarly that sitebuilder is not able to be secured with SSL on the shopping domain. You can have a custom checkout domain but not a custom shopping domain that is secured.
