Help create very limited dashboard

I am trying to create a very very limited dashboard.  I started from a blank role and have given limited permissions. 

I want to remove the Customize this Page, Settings, Preferences under the Home dropdown, and the Support tab, etc...   I want just one portlet.

Then when they drill into a PO, I want extraneous links removed, like find, Go to Register, etc.

Any Java Script programmers out there that can do this????   This would be unique to a specific role.
