Dashboard Header Background Turns Light-Gray | Buttons Turn White

Occasionally my dashboard header background light-grays out and the All Recent Records, Shortcuts and Dashboard buttons on the left lose their colors, i.e. turn white... leaving the other tabs looking normal.
Anyone know cause and fix?
