UK Telephone Numbers

Good morning to all fellow UK NetSuite users.
We are going through the 'SuiteSuccess' implementation process (with varying levels of success / confidence)….

What number format are you using for your telephone numbers?
It seems that 123 456 7890 is the best(?) option for UK numbers from the limited number available in the system.,
Has anyone implemented any customisation to get better number formatting for UK numbers? Or hidden all the standard fields and created custom fields (something I was considering)?
