Memorized transaction template can't be deleted in 2008.1

Since our update to 2008.1 we can no longer modify or delete memorized transaction templates from closed periods.  I understand that the transaction instances created from the template may not be modified, but we need to modify different templates many times per day.

We have thousands of customers that have memorized transactions and when cc info changes or they want to stop payment, we need to go in and edit the transaction.

Was there a "fix" as part of the update that would have caused this?  I'd like to know if this is intended behavior before I go to support.
