Make Item non-fulfillable...after the fact

Hi there:

So, Support tells me that you cannot mark an item as "non-fulfillable" (that is, you can't un-check "can be fulfilled/received" in the item record) if there are existing open Sales Orders for that item.

So, since the item in question is constantly in use, I can't change this status.

The problem is, this item (it is an "Other Charge" item) shows up on packing slips, and I don't really want it to show up there.

Anybody have a work around for this?
