Changing the expense and rev accounts for Items

Hi all

Here is an error I got.


The account change you have made is incompatible with old transactions. Please either change the account selection appropriately or do not request to update past transactions.

How can I do this?  I want to change a maintenance item to hit deferred immediately and not a rev or expense account.
