COGS not available selection for drop-ship (Non-inventory items for Resale)
We currently use non-inventory items for resale for drop-shipping as recommended by NS, which allows us to avoid unwanted balance sheet effect (inventory, locations, etc.). The drawback is that non-inventory items for resale do not allow COGS as an option (only other below-the-line expense accounts).
The workaround of performing reclass journal entries is a real pain and becomes even more painful with returns.
NS Support referred me to Enhancement # 59387: Transactions > Drop Ship > User request when Cost of Goods Sold Account is selected as COGS account in inventory items, or in Expense field in non inventory items to be able option to select to have it show against sales on profitability reports.
