New Matrix with Current Parts?

edited May 22, 2009 7:58AM in Accounting / ERP 3 comments

We recently entered a new product line using matrix items and it went well all things considered.

Now we have the idea of applying the same utility to some of our existing lines that are entered as individual parts.  For example chemicals available in different sizes 1, 4, 5, 6, 30, and 55 gallons.

The desired outcome would be to make a matrix parent X (The Chemical) and then add our existing parts as sub parts (Chemical-Size) Y, Z, etc.  So far it appears that the only outcome is to generate a matrix with all new parts.  If we could slide our existing parts in the matrix as possible outcomes we would be able to keep our previous item data and avoid duplication.

Howdy, Stranger!
