Best practice for "Free Shipping"?
We have decided to start offering free shipping to some customers and it looks like the best option to implement this is to create a set of Shipping Items with a flat rate of $0. The main reason for this is that we don't want to depend on discounting the shipping on each order entered, but rather we can set the preferred shipping method at the customer level to the free shipping item.
Before I proceed with this solution I need to understand how this will work from an accounting standpoint. I'm not an accountant and just BARELY understand the different account types and how it all works. So to my non-accounting brain I think:
