Importing Customers and Sales orders at the same time

We've got a call centre that do sales for us, then send a CSV with the customer's personal details, CC details and the item they ordered.

I want to import all this info at the same time - to go from scratch, to having a customer entered in the system with a sales order, a transaction, and all their details. But if I upload as "customers and contacts together" (under relationships) then even if i enter cc details and sales items etc, it enters just the customer with no transaction. And if I then try to import a sales order, it won't accept it without the customer number (which the system just generated, and isn't in the original CSV).
