Discount item import / customization

Is there any support for importing Discount items? I can't seem to find any. . .

Also, once I mention Discount items - is there any way to customize the discount item? I want to throw custom fields onto the item record, but even after following all the regular channels I am unable to do so. I go to Customize Form, add a custom field to the form, and when I return to the Discount item it doesn't show. When I go back into Customize Form, I don't even see my custom fields.

The same is true when I follow any of the conventional ways to create custom fields via the Setup > Customize > Item fields
