Item CSV Update - 300 out of 2300 items return "form not valid"

A weird thing came up while doing an item update by csv upload.  For 300 of the 2300 items in the form, we receive an error that whatever form we are attempting to use is an invalid form.

I have tried switch to a copy of the form, in case it was a corrupted form, and also using the standard form. Even the standard form is reported as being an invalid form.

Any ideas?
