Searching with Suitescript

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I have not currently used the search functionality within suitescript but i am looking to take advantage of it now. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the following is possible and if so how i would go about doing it?

"beforeLoad" of an existing sales order i wish to perform a search for other sales orders within the system for the same customer which contain certain items and display some information on them. I'd imagine that this is possible but could do with a pointer in the right direction.
