Help with Multi-Select Fields

Hi, I'm just not able to figure out how to update a multi-select field.  I seem to have luck with setting its values the first time, but when the record is edited, my script doesn't update the field with the new values.

Is there a trick or other process to set these types fields?  Any examples would really be appreciated.
