Request For Help: Sequential Numbering in Inventory Items

Hi All,

I need the Item Name/Number field on inventory item records to be serialised and sequential (e.g. in exactly the same way as Auto Numbering on POs, SOs, etc etc).

Is this possible with suitescript, or can I use something more native like Custom Item Number fields?

Essentially though I'd like the core identifier of the Inventory item to be set to the next available number on creation of the inventory item.

Is this possible?
