Picking Ticket Flag

How can I set a 'flag' on a custom body field in a sales order that shows that the picking ticket has been printed?  I know that I can see this in the system notes on the sales order and I can create a saved search based on the system notes but I am running into trouble trying to find the tag run a script on it.

Any Suggestions?
