nlapiGetRole() Help

I have no scripting ability but I have found the following option that if I understand it correctly it will allow me to only execute a script on a SO form if you are a member of a particular role.
I'm trying to disable line item fields and have found this script on the forum and it works perfectly:
function trans_lineInit() {
nlapiDisableLineItemField("item","price",true);
nlapiDisableLineItemField("item","amount",true);
}
I'm trying to customise this so that it now only executes on certain roles.
My role ID's are: "customrole1038" and "customrole1033"
I have tried this modification, but it doesn't work:
