Adv Print Replace Functionality

I was previously using ${record.shipaddress?replace("/n", "")} to strip out carriage returns in the shipping address to get the detail on one line.

Today, after editing another part of the template I find this code no longer works?

Has anyone else found this functionality to be broken?

If so, can anyone suggest a work around that doesn't involve having YACF (Yet Another Custom Field) on the Quote form?
