Help needed when processing grouped items from a saved search

Hi all,

I need some pointers to figure out how to access grouped items from a saved search. In a suitelet, I'm running a saved search that is grouping item transactions by Transdate and Item. The search returns 3 columns - transdate (Grouped, label="Date"), Quantity (Sum, label="QtySum") and Item (Grouped, label="Item").

I can access the date and quantity, but am having trouble getting a handle on the Item Group.

When i log the Item column and value i get the following:

column=nlobjSearchColumn(item, null, GROUP, label=Item, type=select),
value=54

I can't seem to find any information on how to access the type "select". I also don't know what the value "54" means.
