Changing Contact Roles with SuiteScript

Is there any way to set a contact's CRM role with a company in SuiteScript?  For example, I want to set a contact to be the "Primary Contact" for a company in code.  I see that there is a contactrole list on the customer nlobjRecord, but there the role refers to their login access.  I don't see anything on the contact's nlobjRecord that can do this.
