Execute After Submit from a different User Event Script

I have a script that sets a checkbox value on a purchase order to TRUE on save of a sales order.  Once this happens, I need a separate User Event Script to execure AFTER SUBMIT and perform another process.  I have found that the after submit function does not execute, but will on a before Submit.  However, it obviously does not pick up the value of the newly set checkbox field. 

How can I execute an after submit function on one script from another script?
