Coding Netsuite URL

I have several scripts that have a direct cal to https://system.netsuite.com/...
We have been having many issues with netsuite lately and so have had to use system2.netsuite.com. The problem is that when we do that our scripts are broken. Is there a more elegant way of capturing the url you are logged in to so that we can programatically fix this issue.

here is an example of what we are trying to fix.
    newLeadForm = 'https://system.netsuite.com/app/common/custom/custrecordentry.nl?rectype=412&record.custrecord_hdm_duplicate=' + customerID;   

I have tried searching but have not been successful.
