Add "Subtotal" item on invoice

Hi

I am scripting to add  a subtotal item on the invoice. I haven't add any subtotal item in the NS, and I can manually add "Subtotal" on the invoice. However, I can't find the internal id of that "subtotal" item. Should I create a subtotal item for my scripting purpose? Or I can use the system one. Does anyone knows that?
