Google Sitemap Short Term
We are working on a short term Google Sitemap / Sitemaps.org format. We thought of using one of the utilities out there but prefer to create our own.
These are our three ideas:
Idea #1 (most likely)
1) Have static files (database) for category and information items that we manually update.
2) Schedule a saved search that emails a csv file every day with the active items along with the url.
3) Run a process that will create sitemapindex.xml, sitemapcategory.xml, sitemapinfoitem.xml and sitemapitem.xml
4) Use wsdl v2.6 to upload the four files.
Idea #2
1) Use web services for category and item. (Information Items is not exposed)
