Problems with Google Webmaster tools and Google Analytics

[*]Finally getting in the game here and tried to get the Google Webmaster tool to work, only it won't verify my site. When I called NS support, they couldn't get it to work and have ended up creating issue 140118 (pending investigation). So, you ask -- where did she put the meta tag code. I put is in under the Home tab and then in the field "Meta Tag HTML".
[*]Then I tried to get Google Analytics set up. I wasn't sure where to put the javascript. The directions said to put it between the body tags, but support said (since we use a theme) to go to Web site setup > Themes (select our theme) and then add it to the 'head' section in the general tab. Of course, I argued the fact that it won't appear in the 'body', but will appear only in the 'head' section. Support says that it works different for Google with NetSuite. Then that didn't work and they say it's because it takes
