Coming from the Open Source CMS World to Netsuite!

I need help translating my experience from the open source world, to Netsuite!

I'm an experienced web designer and developer, and I'm heavily steeped in building sites and stores using open source technologies like javascript, HTML, CSS, PHP, Ruby, etc.  I've used a lot of content management and commerce systems like Wordpress, Drupal, modx, Magento, textpattern, and have never had a hard time learning these systems, so I have at least a measure of confidence.

I'm going to create my first custom Netsuite site/store design and theme, and I'm looking for your tips on how and where to start.
