No Custom Elements Tab Available In Statements

I have been successful in adding a custom field in my TRANSACTION FORMS (quote, sales order, invoice) that lists our REMIT ADDRESS.  Once saved, I can then use this field and place it on my form anywhere I want.  In all three I put it above the columns and body beside the BILL TO / SHIP TO addresses.

In the CUSTOM PDF LAYOUT for the statement, however, there is no tab there to add any CUSTOM ELEMENT.  So how do I get this in there?
