Formula in custom transaction column fields

I am having trouble with a formula in a custom transaction field.

Here is the scenario.

We sell software depending on the level of the software sales reps get credit for x number of seats and these seats go towards their quota for the year.

I need to setup a field that checks the item description then if it is one of the products associated with seat count multiply the qty times the correct vault for that product.

I have been able to create the formula using case and put that in the custom transaction column (decimal) field.

case when ({item} like 'CWX Prod%') then {quantity} when ({item} like 'SWX Prod%Prem') then ({quantity}*.5) else 0 end
