Is it possible to disable a tab on page Init?

I would like to be able to disable a tab on a customer form when the page initialises through a function in page Init.

I am able to disable fields using nlapiDisableField but is there a function that disables tabs?

I'm guessing it's called nlapiDisableTab or something like that?
